Famous statues produced from Parian white marble
Victory of Samothrace
Among the main treasures of the Louvre museum are the Victory of Samothrace , the Venus de Milo , and the Mona Lisa.
The first 2 are produced from the famous in the antiquity, Paria Marmara, the white semitransparent Parian marble.
The Winged Victory of Samothrace, 3.28m. height, dates from around 190 BC. It was found on the island of Samothrace
